Default The Clan Tenbears

((OOC Note- This isn't really a roleplaying session, but rather an IC introduction to my main character, Shaun Tenbears. There are other Tenbears who will pop up now and then, including Rabid (Paladin) who is my secondary.))

The dark of night crept over the land as a soft wind blew and the masked ranger knelt to examine the tracks before him. A soft grunt escaped his lips as he let his cold blue eyes follow the direction that the tracks were moving. It seemed that his prey was being more elusive then he had hoped, and now that night was falling, he didn't want to be caught outdoors. Darkness had never frightened him, as he was a master of the outdoors, but it was the creatures of the night he had a fear of. Gargoyles and the such sent a bolt of terror through him, even though he knew that he was strong enough to do battle and come out the victor should anything attack him.

The Grawl and Charr would not attack at night, that was for sure. If he was caught in this area though, regardless of the posistion of the sun, they would execute him on the spot. Fear flashed through those azul orbs again as he remembered watching his fathers execution at the tender age of six. Hiding in the woods with his stalker cub, Mystic, in his arms, he watched as the rogue elementalists pinned the elder Tenbears to a tree with their earth magic. As the hooded leader of the rogues pronounced sentance on his father for crimes against Melandru and the earth, the elder Tenbears denounced it, claiming he only hunted what he needed, and never, ever damaged the very earth he came from. However it was too little, too late as the leader raised his hands and the tree that his father was being held against exploded into flames, burning the elder Tenbears to ashes within moments. The screams stuck with Shaun from that day on, driving him to surpass his fathers abilities and strike down those who killed him.

The day that Shaun stood over the leader of those elementalists, he tore the mask from his face and grinned as he looked at the arrows piercing the flesh of the man and the blood pooling on his garments and crimson rivers flowing down his chest. Yet he had made sure the wounds were not life threatening. No, he wanted to make sure the fool saw him well before his life ended.

"For crimes against humanity...."

And the young ranger slashed the right cheekbone of the leader, just deep enough to let the blood flow.

"For crimes against Melandru and Nature.."

The dagger flashed again, scoring deep against the left cheekbone, turning upwards to pierce the eye of the pyromancer. A scream was let out, and Shaun quickly broke the man jaw.

"Shut up you stupid, worthless pile of charr feces... You brought this upon yourself."

Pulling the man up to his knees, Shaun stood overhim, brandishing a scythe shapped dagger. An evil glint filled his eyes, knowing this would give the half blind pyro a chance to fight back.

"Beg for your life, spellcaster... Pleade for it, like you made my father do!"

The spellcaster didn't notice the movement in Shauns lips as he looked to the sky. A chant started deep in his throat, but before he could finish it, a purple light surrounded him. The ranger had placed a hex on him! Before he could stop himself, he finished the spell he had been chanting, and was suddenly and violently thrown backwards.

"Backfire works wonders, doesn't it? Now beg!"

The spellcaster just looked into the hard eyes of the ranger, and shook his head. The broken jaw he'd suffered wouldn't allow him to speak. With an exasperated sigh, the ranger turned to walk away. A slight cackle came out of the lips of the spellcaster. He'd won again...

...But then the ranger turned, shortbow in hand. With a swift motion, an arrow flew towards the spellcaster, igniting in midair and striking him full in the chest, lighting his garments on fire.

"And that is for crimes against my father!"

The ranger turned again and walked away into the woods..

...a sudden cold feeling against the palm of his hand brought Shaun out of his memories. Looking down with tear filled eyes, he saw his ever faithful stalker, Mystic, nuzzeling his hand. She'd been with him all this time, and she knew when something was bothering him. With a pat on the head, Shaun stood to his feet and looked around. Darkness was swiftly coming and there was no time to waste.

"Come Mystic... We must find shelter before the sun goes down. Melandru willing, we'll be home by this time tomorrow."

Story to continue...

Hmm..good idea, bad interpretation. Make a few adjustments with grammar and spelling and it'll be better.
